Dr. Zoe Beenstock
Zoe Beenstock specializes in British Romanticism, eighteenth-century studies and literature and political theory. She holds a BA (2000) and MA (2002) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a PhD (2011) from McGill University. She is the author of The Politics of Romanticism: The Social Contract and Literature (Edinburgh University Press, 2016). Her essays have appeared in European Romantic Review, MLQ and Philosophy and Literature.
In 2015 she joined the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Haifa as a lecturer, where she is the Head of the BA committee. In the spring of 2019 she will be a visiting scholar at the Yale Center for British Art. In May 2019 she is co-organizing a conference in collaboration with the Dickens Project University of California Santa Cruz and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, "Mapping Victorian Empires, Cultures, Identities"
